**Homework Expectations**
Homework is an integral component of the curriculum at every grade level. Homework is a valuable tool
in helping students to make the most of their school experience. Homework helps reinforce what has
been learned in class, prepares students for upcoming lessons, teaches responsibility, and helps
students develop positive study habits. As a general guideline, grade 5 students should be spending 45 to 75 minutes, not longer than one & a half hours on homework each night. Additionally, grade 5 students are encouraged to read at least 15-30 minutes nightly.
